Interior Design Process

Our mission is to provide bespoke design solutions that create remarkable interiors which are inspiring, functional and suited to the client’s needs. In our work we emphasize form and function, while also seeking to incorporate a magic touch to create an attractive space with “poetry in the everyday”.

Through dialogue we explore ways to elevate our clients’ business through the power of exceptional design.

We offer a full interior design service across commercial and residential spaces – including advisory work, interior architecture, bespoke furnishings and lighting, and project management. We have a wide experience, including retail outlets and showrooms (telecom, fashion, footwear, cosmetics), restaurants, offices, conference rooms and auditoriums.

A well-organized process with an open dialogue is crucial to achieve a good outcome. The following steps give a broad outline of our design process: 

1. Initial consultation: assess the needs of the client

2. Draft overall design: from ideas and floor plan to suitable design

3. Second consultation: presentation to the client, feedback, dialogue and corrections

4. Detailed design: Based upon  the approved overall plan and design, create: Ceiling plan; Lighting plan; Floor plan; Fittings design; Collage, colour and materials; Specifications for craftsmen; Material to obtain quotes from suppliers

5. Monitoring of project: Regular meetings with client, working meetings with craftsmen, quality control

6. Final consultation: Final meeting with client

We can assist with a complete solution (design as well as project management), a partial solution (design) or simply provide advice and guidance as desired by the client. After an initial assessment of the scope of work involved, we can provide an estimate of the costs involved. Good design constitutes a small amount of the total costs of a project, but can significantly improve the project’s functional, aesthetic and financial attributes.

Design Partner AS is a boutique interior design company located at Frogner in Oslo. The creative work at our elegant offices is carried out by experienced interior architect Ms Deepika Dhall, who also collaborates with the best providers to ensure that the projects have expression and style and add value to the clients.

The company was founded in 1984 by Adam Laska. Deepika Dhall joined Design Partner in 2011 and assumed full responsibility for the company from 2014. She was born in India, grew up in Norway, and has lived in different parts of the world, before completing her bachelor degree in interior design at the Paris American Academy and returning to Norway.

Her vision is to design interior spaces in accordance with clients’ needs that are an invitation to finding peace, warmth and harmony while preserving flexibility, pragmatism and innovation.
